What time should we book our Engagement Session?
Probably one of the most common questions that we will see you is what time should we schedule our engagement session. Time of day is so important for photography because we’re going by what the natural light is in order to give you the best look.
The absolute best time to schedule your engagement shoot would be when the sun is lowest in the sky. So we typically end up scheduling engagement sessions right before sunset.
This is good for several reasons: you get that beautiful afternoon light, and as the sun gets lower and lower in the sky you get nicer light as the shoot goes along.
Additionally, once the sun has set you get that second look! In essence you end up getting a daytime look and a nighttime log all in one photo shoot.
As far as what day would work best for an engagement photo shoot, the best days would be sometime during the week.
Not only are we more available during the week because there are no weddings going on, it also means that when you go to do a beach photo shoot or a museum, you have the location more to yourself than if you’re doing it on a weekend when most people are out.
The beautiful thing about scheduling your photo session in the afternoon is that if you’re far away enough from the city you can even get stars in your shot at the end too!
Please let us know if you have any questions! We love educating our couples!
