Laguna Beach Engagement Photographer: Happy 2022! This year we kicked it off with a couples session in Laguna Beach, California. Originally we were supposed to finish the year off with this session, however, after the rain storms that we had here in Southern California, we ended up rescheduling to 2022. And boy are we glad we did, because our bride and groom got the most epic sunset for their session! Before we went down to Victoria Beach, we did a little session at a trail nearby. In order to shoot at most parks and trails in Orange County, you do need the OC Parks Permit, which we do have so it was easy to go in and out.

After shooting at the trail for a bit, we headed over to the beach for their sunset engagement shoot. We absolutely love shooting near sunset since that’s what’s going to give our couples the optimal lighting. We shot with that beautiful golden hour and finished off right before it got dark. A couple of things with Victoria Beach: make sure you check the tides before going as it can get dicey at high tide. Get a permit (it’s $100 from Laguna Beach, and it’s very simple to obtain). You can obtain it from the link above. Last thing you want is to be shooting and you get stopped midway through. They do check for them from time to time. Bring comfortable shoes for the walk down, as it is a bit of a walk and the rocks can be a little slippery and sharp. Have fun! It’s a beautiful location with a ton of options! You will see other people taking photos but everyone is always polite. And with the amount of different options, you all get a turn with where you want to shoot. If possible I would do weekday over weekends, however.
