We met up with Jamie and Kevin early in the morning before heading over to the Pacific Palms Resort to cover their tea ceremony. Jamie and Kevin are very respectful and they knew that this meant a lot to their parents and their families. Kevin couldn’t hold back his emotions from the very beginning. You could see how happy Jamie makes him and Jamie was super excited and smiling the entire day. After capturing the tea ceremony for some time, we took some family photos and we were on our way to capture the getting ready, ceremony, and reception
Once we arrived at the Pacific Palms Resort, Jamie headed up to their suite while the gentlemen and Kevin got ready in the groom’s suite. Jamie looked beautiful in her wedding dress and with the help of her bridesmaids, they put the finishing touches to head down to their first look.
First Look Photos
We definitely knew that Kevin would be overjoyed seeing Jamie. So when he asked us “what should I do when I see her?” we told him “whatever feels right”. That’s always the best advice because when our couples are in those moments, they forget about everything (which is the best). Lo and behold, Jamie walked up to Kevin, he turned around and the smiles, laughs, and tears came out! We absolutely loved capturing this moment because we knew how emotional they would both be.
Bridesmaids and Groomsmen Photos
Usually after we do a first look we try to gather wedding party for portraits. It’s easier to do it then than to wrangle them later on in the day. Once we do get those staple shots that we need, the bridesmaids and groomsmen are free to relax so it’s a win-win situation. First we photographed everyone together, and then we split them tup (gentlemen and Kevin with our second photographer Derek, and Jamie and the bridesmaids with our lead Elmer). It was a really fun shoot, lots of fun poses but soon enough we knew we had to hide Jamie and Kevin away for the ceremony. We didn’t want their wedding guests to spot Jamie early.
The ceremony was just as we expected. Lots of laugher, smiling and of course it wouldn’t be complete without a few tears going around. We absolutely loved capturing this. After they exchanged vows, they were pronounced husband and wife and they were off! But not before taking just a few more bride and groom portraits.
During the reception we simply allowed Jamie and Kevin to enjoy their party. We knew they had a lot of friends and family to talk to and party with so until the very end of the evening where we took them for a final night shot, we let them be and enjoy the night together. Congratulations Jamie and Kevin!
