We met up with Heidi and Huaming at Crossline Community Church in Laguna Hills, CA for their wedding day. If you’re not familiar with Crossline Community church, it’s a beautiful chapel with such amazing natural light. Everything looks fresh and well taken care of. That is where Heidi and Huaming were to exchange vows, but before that, they had to finish with their final touch-ups.
Getting Ready
Whenever we start a wedding day we always like to arrive a little early. That way we have time to photograph the important details: the shoes, the jewelry, anything significant that you may have that you want us to feature/focus on. With Heidi we took her dress and used a suction cup hook that we carry in our bags to place it against the glass in the chapel. We’ve been using this method for some time it’s great to place the wedding dress just about anywhere. After we photographed the details, Heidi was just about ready to jump in her dress. Her bridesmaids would help her with this so while they got started we stepped out and right before she finished up, we came back and photographed the final bits.
We tend to move things around in any bridal suite we shoot in to place our bride and bridesmaids in the best light possible (don’t worry Crossline Community, we moved everything back 😀 ) Once we had Heidi completely ready it was time to head over to the ceremony!
Groom and Groomsmen
But before that, Huaming and the groomsmen had to have a little fun too. Normally our second wedding photographers take the groom and the groomsmen out for their portraits if there’s time. We always coordinate and communicate so the bride and groom don’t see each other beforehand. Our second photographer took them outside the chapel. At Crossline Community Church there are plenty of inside and outdoor spots for photos. Sergio took them to the side by the lake so we could place Huaming and his groomsmen in the shade to get the best light on them. After a little photoshoot there we took them back inside so we could commence the wedding ceremony.
Wedding Ceremony
The ceremony happened in the chapel where Heidi and Huaming exchanged their vows in front of their friends and family. It was short and sweet and after they said I do we took Heidi and Huaming around the campus for some bride and groom photos. First we started with the bridal party then we finished with Heidi and Huaming
Bride and Groom Photos
At sunset we decided to use the back side of their reception room for some sunset/dusk photos. We couldn’t have asked for a better day. The lake behind Crossline Community Church was the perfect setting to close out the day. Thank you Heidi and Huaming for having us on your special day!
